The Opportunity
Rancho Pacifico is on the leading edge of a trend for more upscale and luxury experiences along the southern Pacific Coast. Four Seasons Papagayo on the northern Pacific coast, initiated the trend in 2004 with the first luxury hotel in Costa Rica. That was the catalyst for additional non stop flights to Liberia via major US carriers.
Development Opportunity
There are several boutique properties along the southern coast, but few have achieved the level of service and rainforest luxury that is seen at Rancho Pacifico. The existing property consists of 7 keys and there is an opportunity to develop an additional 8 keys on two flat sections of the 26 acre site comprising the resort.
Upgrades
There is an opportunity for some upgrades to the facility to include renovations to the accommodations, additional path railing, up lighting in the rainforest, hotel owned transportation services and a secondary pool/social area set among the additional suites/villas. The arrival experience could be improved with upgrades to the access road.
Opportunity to Increase ADR
Potential to increase annual ADR and target celebrities and HNW individuals. The resort currently attracts an global clientele which could easily be expanded.
